Dental Technologies

Here at Dr. Eaton's office, we are always looking for new and innovative ways to enhance your dental experience. At our office, you will find some of the latest dental technologies.

iTero

Unlike other dental offices, patients of Dr. Eaton will not experience the gooey mess associated with impression materials, you can breathe and swallow as you normally would.

Let's be honest, even under the best of conditions, traditional impressions are still uncomfortable, occasionally unreliable, and unpleasant tasting. That’s why we’re proud to offer goop-free, full digital impressions with the revolutionary iTero® Element™ Scanner. Not only is a digital impression more comfortable, but it’s also much more accurate. The scanner takes an incredibly detailed impression of your teeth and gums. Once the scan is complete, your dentist will then have a 3D model of your mouth that can be used to create detailed crowns, bridges, implants, and Invisalign® clear aligners and retainers. This digital accuracy eliminates the need to retake impressions, keeping your time in the chair to an absolute minimum and we are able to give you a better final product.

Same-Day Crowns

In the past, restoring a tooth with a crown or an onlay (partial crown) would require two visits - normally with at least two weeks between appointments. Using sophisticated technologies D Scott Eaton DDS is able to restore your tooth with a crown or onlay in just a single appointment.  This can be accomplished in as little as two hours.

Step 1: Dr. D Scott Eaton DDS will prepare your tooth and capture a 3D digital scan of your mouth
Step 2: Specialized software is used to create a digital blueprint of your dental crown
Step 3: While you wait, your crown is sculpted from a block of tooth-colored, metal-free material.
Step 4: Dr. Eaton will bond your custom-made crown onto your tooth.

That means no more second appointments, no more gooey impressions, no more temporary restorations, and your tooth and smile are restored today.

Digital X-Ray

Digital X-rays are one of the advanced diagnostic tools we use to provide you with the best possible care. Digital radiography has changed the way we take dental X-rays by making the process faster, more comfortable, and more convenient than ever before. Digital X-rays use a digital sensor to take images of your teeth, unlike traditional X-rays that use film. Digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than conventional film X-rays. Dr. D Scott Eaton can then instantly view and manipulate the high-quality images on monitors right in the treatment room to provide you with efficient, accurate diagnoses and care. This detail and accuracy are just not possible with traditional film.  We are able to take both single tooth intraoral images and Panoramic extraoral images of your entire mouth. Through digital radiography we are able to diagnose:

  • Decay in between teeth

  • Developmental abnormalities

  • Improper tooth root positioning

  • Cysts and abscesses

  • Fractures in existing fillings

  • Infection of the tooth nerves

  • Bone loss
